A Spiritual Approach to Managing Life’s Challenges

Last month, we covered Attention, Intention, and Inspiration, which focused on the positive, creative side. This month, we expand on these concepts, examining what is within and beyond our control; how to deal with stressful situations, and recognising that it is within our control to avoid certain situations. We also explore how the current times are both stressful and exciting; stressful because events sometimes unfold in ways we might not have chosen if we were in control, and exciting because we are witnessing truths coming to light, and we know we can be involved in building a better future.

In the Attention and Intention topic, we noted that there are times in life when we can plan our day-to-day affairs, and others when we must cope with unexpected and challenging situations. The first is proactive, while the second is reactive; yet, we can be mindful in both. Also, in both scenarios, we can accept where we are and focus on where we want to go from there.

We acknowledge that it is easier to manage our day-to-day activities and create the future we desire when things are going our way. But life has a way of throwing us curveballs. We have all, at one time or another, experienced life’s little disappointments, unexpected issues, as well as short and long-term stresses. At times, life seems to be going in the wrong direction, and we need to take measures to turn it around and follow a path more in line with our soul’s calling.

Most of us would like more control over our everyday lives. Yet if everything were completely within our control, we would lose something very special, that magic moment and the possibility of serendipity.

Wat is die Maandelikse Geestelike Onderwerpe (MGO)?

We create new spiritual topics each month. Coordinators use these topics to facilitate discussions to give members the opportunity to talk about real-life situations and to share insights, ideas and strategies. The spiritual topics are posted on CC’s internal social connecting platform where members from around the world engage in conversation and share personal thoughts. These topics are designed to give points of discussion around self-awareness and spiritual development to enable and empower each of us to become the best version of who we are!

Aims of the MSTs

We are all on a unique journey to grow and find greater meaning, purpose, and joy in life. To do this entails a deep focus on one’s inner self. As 13th-century Persian poet, Rumi, stated, “Everything in the universe is within you. Ask all from yourself.”

To this end, the Monthly Spiritual Topics are designed to help members:

  • Know themselves better (self-realisation)
  • Verbind met hulle innerlike wysheid
  • Ontwikkel bewuste fokus en bedoeling.
  • Leef vanuit ’n hartgesentreerde ruimte.
  • Express compassion and be in service to everyone
  • Align with their Higher/Divine Self
  • Manifest positive change for themselves and the collective

Objectives of the MSTs

The Monthly Spiritual Topic process was created to serve two primary objectives: To offer spiritual dialogue and education for members and to provide Coordinators with relevant topic materials to facilitate engaging member discussions. This saves time for Coordinators who no longer need to search for topics and find materials to present. It also gives Coordinators the opportunity to further develop their facilitation skills.
